Two charged after Beverley stabbing

Two men have appeared in court today (Tuesday June 5) following an incident in Beverley at the weekend in which a 21 year-old man suffered knife wounds.

In a statement issued to Beverley FM, Humberside Police said: “Following an incident at around 11.40pm on Saturday  June 2, on Thompson Avenue in Beverley where a 21 year-old man suffered knife wounds, two men were arrested.”

The statement continued: “After questioning, two men were charged with multiple offences: 23 year-old Shane Bunting, of Winteringham Walk, Cottingham, was charged with wounding with intent to cause GBH, assault of a police officer and criminal damage.

“24 year-old Gary Billaney of Thompson Avenue Beverley was charged with wounding with intent to cause GBH, Possession of a knife in a public place and possession of a knuckle duster in a public place.

“Both men appeared at Hull Magistrates court today and were remanded into custody.”
