The Police and Crime Commissioner for our area has announced a major investment in Community Safety Partnerships over the next 3 years. It’s part of Jonathan Evison’s new Police and Crime Plan. He told Beverley FM that he wants to drive more resources into the area. This includes improving funding to partner agencies and assisting local people to help address their own community issues. Mr Evison added he wants to see more members of the public volunteering in community safety projects and providing sustainable solutions to problems. East Riding women are being encouraged to access a new online ‘Boob Portal‘. It’s one of the initiatives being launched this week as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s been created by Avon in partnership with health care professionals and women who have experienced the disease. A spokesperson told us that one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and knowing the signs and how to take action can have a real impact on survival.
