ONE OF BEVERLEY’S most prominent buildings, the Grade II-listed former Beverley Savings Bank in Lairgate, is up for sale with planning permission allowing conversion to two, three-bedroom houses. Nos 26-28 Lairgate, which later housed the solicitor’s practice of Neville Hobson & Co, is currently home to Ingleby & Hobson Architects although more than half of the building is vacant.

Scotts Property is currently advertising the freehold of the property, built in 1842, for £450,000 and says many of the building’s original features remain. Planning permission for the conversion to houses was granted a year ago.

Caroline Lacey, the council’s chief executive, told Beverley FM: “By being a disability confident employer we are committed to removing unnecessary barriers for our employees’ and candidates seeking opportunities within our organisation, from the beginning of their journey with us, and throughout their career.” More details here
