ONE OF BEVERLEY’S most prominent buildings, the Grade II-listed former Beverley Savings Bank in Lairgate, is up for sale with planning permission allowing conversion to two, three-bedroom houses. Nos 26-28 Lairgate, which later housed the solicitor’s practice of Neville Hobson & Co, is currently home to Ingleby & Hobson Architects although more than half of the building is vacant.
Scotts Property is currently advertising the freehold of the property, built in 1842, for £450,000 and says many of the building’s original features remain. Planning permission for the conversion to houses was granted a year ago.
