Last night both Hull FC and Hull Kingston Rovers returned to the field. Rugby League is not regularly played on a Monday night but due to the backlog of fixtures both sides now have this currently is necessary.


Hull FC faced St Helens at the MKM Stadium. The Black and Whites were hoping to return to winning ways after two games without a win. It was always going to be an uphill battle for Brett Hodgson’s men against second in the league. Saints lead 16-4 at half-time, the scoreline did not match the game. The only try of the first half for the hosts came through winger Adam Swift. Despite the good start to the second period, including a Faraimo try, the Black and Whites crumbled to a 42-10 loss. Hull Kingston Rovers took on Catalans Dragons at Craven Park. It was the third time the Robins have faced the league leaders this season. First half was a tightly fought affair the first try did not come until the 39th minute. The visitors led 8-4 at half-time. Second half the Dragons extended their lead, further. Hall Road Rangers have their second game of the season this evening. Rangers lost to Worsborough Bridge Athletic on the opening day 1-0. Today’s opponents Glasshoughton Welfare also lost their first game 3-2 to a last-minute goal away at Brigg Town.
