Police have issued a stark warning of zero tolerance of drink driving in East Yorkshire as Covid restrictions have been lifted on indoor pubs and bars. Roads Policing Inspector Heather Cawson told Beverley FM that all drivers should consider their mode of transport before and after a night of drinking, when they could still be over the limit the next morning. She added that drink drivers face unlimited fines and time in prison as well as driving bans. The public are urged to report anyone they suspect of drink driving by calling 101 or 999 if a crime is currently taking place. Full story here

Hospital bosses have unveiled plans to create a solar panel field to power Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham and reinvest savings in health care for future generations. Consultations with local residents are due to take place ahead of filing a planning application with East Riding Council.
