The chief executive of East Riding of Yorkshire Council is leaving her role, it has been announced.

In a statement, the council said Caroline Lacey had “reached agreement to leave”, but did not elaborate on the reason for her departure.

Mrs Lacey, who was appointed in 2017, said she wanted to thank colleagues at the authority for their support over many years and “wishes everyone the best for the future, in what are challenging times for us all.”

The council said deputy chief executive Alan Menzies would take over as chief executive “in the short term”.
