East Riding residents will soon have access to a new £8-million state-of-the-art intensive care unit, which will provide critically ill patients with some of the best facilities in the country. Health officials have revealed details of the new 3-story building which is nearing completion at Hull Royal Infirmary. Beverley FM has been told it features modern isolation facilities to future proof against a further wave of Covid-19. Plus, plans are awaiting approval to provide two new trauma theatres on the top floor. Beverley hospitality and entertainment venues have been busy as they welcomed customers back inside yesterday for the first time in 7-months. Vanessa’s Café in Saturday Market and Chamas in Wednesday Market both reported brisk business, while cinema-goers flocked to Parkway in Flemingate with Oscar winning Nomadland and family film Peter Rabbit 2 amongst the most popular. Cinema management told us that all screens benefit from powerful ventilation systems and socially distanced seating allocations.
