THE NEW Humberside Chief Constable, Paul Anderson, has announced the appointment of his Deputy – the current Assistant Chief Constable Dave Marshall. Mr Marshall, who has been with the Force since January of last year, takes up is new role with immediate effect.
THE BIGGEST crowd of the season is expected at Beverley Races tomorrow for the annual Ladies Day, when prizes are up for grabs for the best dressed men and women. Tickets for the premier enclosure are sold out but availability remains for the grandstand and paddock and course enclosure. Gates open at 11am ahead of the first race at 2pm.
BEVERLEY Building Society staff who took part in an It’s A Knockout-style event at Dove House Hospice in Hull, raised £800 towards the society’s target of £12,000 for the hospice, which was selected as its charity of the year for 2023.
BEVERLEY’S Jacob’s Well charity holds a clearance sale this Saturday at the charity’s warehouse in Swinemoor Lane. Located behind Aldi, it takes place from 9am to 1pm. So far this year Jacob’s Well has sent aid totalling £9 million to Ukraine as well as aid to Zimbabwe, Congo Brazzaville and Burkina Faso.
