Traffic changes to ease congestion
Changes to a busy junction in Hornsea are to be trialled this summer in a bid to help ease traffic congestion. Starting on Sunday July 1st, traffic travelling along Southgate will be prohibited from turning right at the traffic lights into Newbegin seven days a week between 8am and 6pm until the end of September.
A ban on turning right is currently in force at the junction but it only applies between 9am to 5pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays between Easter and the end of September. Working in partnership with Hornsea Town Council, East Riding of Yorkshire Council will introduce the trial traffic regulation to help reduce congestion through the centre of the town during the busy summer and school holidays.
