‘Touch rugby’ sessions starting this week
Beverley Rugby Union Football Club is starting new weekly touch rugby sessions from this Friday (July 7th) at the club’s ground at Beaver Park on Norwood. These are designed for men, women and children of all ages and abilities and are both non-competitive and non-contact games.
“02 Touch Rugby has become popular up and down the country and we started sessions last year, which proved really popular,” a club spokesman told Beverley FM. “It’s a summer thing and anybody can take part. It’s all about having some fun and maintaining fitness or getting fit,” he said.
The sessions will be led by Sam Fell, one of the club’s players who is also a qualified coach, and will continue every Friday until the end of August. “The sessions will run from 7pm to 8pm and we would be delighted to see anyone if they want to find out more or take part. Just turn up is the message,” the spokesman said.
