Top marks for college students
East Riding College students have hit the top spots in maths, English and apprenticeships, according to figures just released by the Department for Education. The national rankings show that 16 to 18 year olds doing GCSE maths have placed the college in the top seven per cent nationally for high achievement, ie., those gaining A Star to C grades, which is the best performance of any general further education college in Yorkshire and the Humber.
In GCSE English, adult learners performed exceptionally well, again putting the College in the top 10 per cent nationally for high grades. And the College also bucks the national trend for apprenticeships, with an achievement rate that’s again in the top 10 per cent nationally.
