It has been an unusually quiet week across the local sporting scene. Hull FC have contract news. Hull Kingston Rovers had their awards evening this evening. Whilst we caught up with Rich Jagger from Beverley Town.

Beverley Town has a sponsor’s day on Saturday. Sports Editor Simon Bromwich took the opportunity to speak to Rich Jagger from Town ahead of this weekend’s fixture and the significance of holding such an event.

Hull FC announced the contract extension of prop Manu Ma’u earlier in the week. The towering forward was one of few standout performers last season and has signed for a further year. The Tongan international joins the growing list of Black and Whites who have signed on for the coming season including most recently Chris Satae.

Hull Kingston Rovers had their player of the season awards this evening following a successful season including an unexpected top-six finish. Once again Kane Linnett was the man taking home the most awards. Despite Jordan Abdull’s nomination for the Super League Man of Steel award, Linnett was presented with Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and Supporters Player of the Year. Young hooker Jez Litten who had a breakout season was the Young Player of the Season.
