AS WORK is about to get under way on the transformation of Beverley Treasure House, East Riding Council has issued more details. The whole of the Treasure House will be closed for approximately a year from 4pm on Saturday September 23. Temporary arrangements will be put in place to allow services to continue as much as possible.
Beverley Library will temporarily relocate into County Hall from October 4, while the Tourist Information Centre will relocate into the Customer Service Centre in Cross Street from September 27. The Treasure House Museum and cafe will be closed for the duration while the Beverley Art Gallery team will be working on redisplaying the permanent collection in the Red Gallery space.
East Riding Archives will be available online for a variety of inquiries and requests. Register Office services provided currently at Walkergate House will remain unchanged until the work is completed while work is also expected to start shortly on an attractive landscaping scheme in the Treasure House gardens. Full details on all the changes can be found here
BEVERLEY Theatre Company has announced its next production will be a new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and, in a departure from their usual venue, it will become the first true amateur dramatic company to perform on stage at the East Riding Theatre. The play will be performed from Wednesday November 8 to Saturday the 11th.
