The great Woodmansey Bake Off!

A mouth-watering selection of entries in the competition

Award-winning patissier Thierry Condette, of TC Patisserie in Beverley, was a guest judge in this year’s Great Woodmansey Bake Off, organised by Woodmansey Primary School’s Parents Teachers and Friends Association.

Thierry casts his expert’s eye over the entries

Children, parents and grandparents entered the competition, with the adults competing for both a trophy and afternoon tea donated by Thierry and children competing for a winner’s party donated by Mega Fun, of Beverley.

Now in its fourth year, the Bake Off is always popular and more than 40 entries were received this year. Thierry, whose TC Patisserie in Lairgate, Beverley, won a Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Award this year in the category for tea and coffee shops, judged the cake entries both on decoration and taste and awarded best overall winner, best decorated and best taste.

Delighted: Keely Phillips

At the end of the event cake entries from the bake off were sold at the school’s Easter Fair, raising £346.34 for school funds.

Keely Phillips was judged the best overall winner and said: “I was very surprised my cake won, all the cakes looked amazing.”

A child from each class won a place to attend the party at Mega Fun.
