Taste of Brazil for Beverley
A new Brazilian-style restaurant is opening in Beverley next week. Chamas, which means fire in Portuguese, is taking over the premises formerly occupied by the Dine Bangla Indian restaurant in Wednesday Market, which closed last month.
The new venture is being started by the owner of the neighbouring Cosmo’s Restaurant and promises a wide range of South American meats as well as vegetarian options. The concept is said to be completely new to Beverley and the opening VIP night will feature Brazilian Samba dancers.
And staying with food, a Beverley restaurant is planning to let customers eat all the ice-cream and cookie dough they want to celebrate the launch of its new dessert menu. The one-off event at Rebels Smokehouse in Butcher Row is planned for Tuesday, July 11th, when customers pay £9.95 and get ice-cream plus sprinkles, sauce and cookie dough.
The night starts at 6pm, with customers asked to finish each tub before requesting another, with the all-you-can eat period lasting 90 minutes. There is also £50 in food vouchers to be won by the person who can eat the most ice-cream before being stuck with brain freeze.
