Street party to remember murdered MP
Beverley Town Council is looking to take part in a nationwide series of street parties being held next month in memory of murdered MP Jo Cox. The “Great Get Together” events will be held over the weekend of June 17th and 18th to mark the first anniversary of the West Yorkshire MP’s death. Beverley council has confirmed it will take part and is hoping to organise a party alongside the town’s folk festival, which takes place on the same weekend.
Meanwhile controversial councillor Dominic Peacock still remains a member of the authority despite calls for his resignation following controversial remarks posted on social media in the wake of the MP’s murder.
