September decision on McDonald’s plan
Woodmansey Parish Council has added its voice to those objecting to plans for a McDonald’s drive-through and restaurant to open near the Morrison’s supermarket off Victoria Road in Beverley, saying it would have a “significant negative impact on the environment”. Concerns about traffic queues, litter, vermin, noise, anti-social behaviour and the proximity to school and the recently-opened Claremont House care home have all featured in objections rationed by local residents.
Others have voiced concerns the site could open 24 hours a day but the joint planning application by McDonald’s and Morrison’s makes no reference to opening times at this stage. East Riding planners are scheduled to consider the planning application in September.
