Passengers using Hull Trains services this weekend have been advised to expect extended journey times due to engineering works. Scheduled trains will not call at Beverley, Cottingham and Grantham today or tomorrow. In addition, there will be no onboard catering service.

Meanwhile, TransPennine Express says it will be introducing an amended timetable from Monday “due to disruption being caused by increased levels of sickness”. A number of routes, including between Hull and Manchester, are affected.

And finally, police have stressed the importance of ensuring sheds and garages are kept locked following a burglary in the Holme Church Lane area of Beverley on Wednesday. They say a shed was broken into and various items stolen.
