Ahead of the new Super League season Hull FC have swapped out one half back for another. Long-standing number 7 Marc Sneyd leaves the Black and Whites and is replaced by former England international Luke Gale.

Sneyd has been an icon at Hull FC in recent years, guiding the FC to consecutive Challenge Cup victories in 2016 and 2017. His performances in both finals earned him the Lance Todd Trophy. Beyond the finals Sneyd has been a consistent performer for his seven years for the Airlie Birds, amassing 176 appearances and a phenomenal goal kicking record which took him to third in Hull’s all-time charts (655). Following release from his contract, the 30-year-old has re-signed for Salford Red Devils.

Hours later Sneyd’s replacement was confirmed as Luke Gale. Former Man of Steel winner and England international, Gale has been a constant in the Super League for many years. Previously playing for the likes of Leeds Rhinos the half-back has signed on an initial one year deal, making him the fourth signing of the offseason.

Don’t forget we have five sporting fixtures to cover this weekend.
