A campaign to provide defibrillators in communities across Beverley and Holderness has now covered two-thirds of its target locations.  Community Access Defibrillators East Yorkshire, led by local MP Graham Stuart, now has a further 21 areas to help. These defibrillators are crucial for treating someone in the first few minutes of a heart attack Meanwhile the Yorkshire Ambulance Service has revealed that nearly 200 people have taken an online course to give them confidence to use a defib. Three more sessions will be run on dates from next Saturday.

A prolific burglar’s been jailed for a total of eight years after he pleaded guilty to a number of offences in the East Riding.  20-year-old Emilio Romano, from Hull, was charged with commercial burglaries in Burshill, Brandesburton and Hornsea, in January 2019, and a number of high-value car thefts a month later. He also pleaded guilty to supplying drugs.

East Riding Theatre has reported that its £20,000 fundraising target to secure its future has reached the £17,500 mark. The Theatre, on Lord Roberts Road, Beverley, is encouraging supporters to sponsor its new seats.
