BEVERLEY In Bloom has received £1,500 in the latest round of community grants from Beverley’s Tesco superstore.  Linda Freeman, Chair of Beverley in Bloom, told us: ”We plan to purchase two new large planters to be sited at the entrance to the Jubilee Garden at the junction of New Walkergate and Railway Street. She said they would be in place in time for the King’s Coronation.

CHILDREN’S services across the East Riding have been rated as good by Ofsted, less than three years after being told by inspectors they were inadequate. A full inspection of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s children’s services took place earlier this year and Ofsted inspectors rated the overall effectiveness of the services as good following “significant and sustained changes in all the practice and leadership areas identified for improvement” in the previous inspection which took place in December 2019.

BUS OPERATOR East Yorkshire will be increasing the number of daytime buses between York, Beverley and Hull from Sunday April 2, with buses in some areas doubling during the week and on Saturdays. East Yorkshire say departures will be better co-ordinated, with services running up to every 30 minutes. And as part of the changes, the route between Beverley and Hull will change to run via Beverley Road instead of Cottingham.
