Demand for food parcels in the East Riding rose by 300% over the last year, compared to 2019-20. Figures from the Trussell Trust show that just over 9,100 parcels were distributed to families by the end of March as a result of the pandemic, compared to 3,500 the year before.

There are three vacancies to serve the community in Woodmansey. The Parish Council is advertising to find new councillors to replace Andrew Jolley, Clive Waddington and Geoff Donkin. The closing date is 13th May. If there’s no election, the council will fill the vacancies by co-opting new members.

The latest live event to return to the East Yorkshire calendar will be Stage4Beverley. It’s staging a summer festival from 17th to 20th June, with acts appearing at Toll Gavel Church. There’ll be a series of three concerts, launched by Spanish composer and flamenco guitarist, Juan Martin. Capacity will be 50% of the norm. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday.
