BEVERLEY FUN Fest – an event aimed at 11 to 17-year-olds – is returning on Tuesday August 8 with highlights including the appearance of TV personalities as well as local boxer Tommy Coyle, alongside sports events, arts and crafts, free food and stands offering careers information.

The event is organised by Humberside Police and the Beverley Joint Youth Partnership and will be held at Beverley Rugby Club. Gracie Harvey, of the Humberside Police media team, told us: “This year, we want to offer an even more diverse range of career and hobby opportunities and inspiration for the young people of the area, and we’ve worked really hard to source people from a variety of different industries.”

A CHANCE to explore the North York Moors by bus from Beverley has been announced, with a revamped Scenic Moors Explorer service, operating from the Sow Hill bus station on Sundays and Bank Holidays until August 28. Operated by East Yorkshire Buses, the route includes Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley, with a stop at Flamingo Land. Buses depart Beverley at 9.05am.

BEVERLEY Photography Club will be holding its annual exhibition of members’ work in St Mary’s Church from Monday August 7 until Saturday August 12. The club meets weekly on Tuesday evenings at the Rose & Crown pub.
