HELP is at hand for young people across the East Riding who may be unsure of what post-16 training, education and apprenticeship opportunities are available following their recent A’level or GCSE results.
The “logon move on” website, developed by East Riding Council in partnership with Hull City Council, schools and education and training providers, is a one-stop-shop for all young people from years 8 to 13. They will be able to research education and training opportunities, use the information and inspiration pages to help plan their next steps and view a calendar of careers and open events.
They can also create an account to make applications, record transferable skills, write a CV and learn vital techniques for success while up-to-date apprenticeships and vacancies from employers in the East Riding and beyond will also be available. For more information go to www.logonmoveon.co.uk
TEMPORARY evening road closures will be in place when a major six-week road improvement scheme starts in Hornsea on Monday week. As part of the scheme, costing £355,000, the full length of Southgate will be resurfaced, with the exception of the Tesco roundabout. Rolston Road roundabout will also be resurfaced, and patch repairs will be carried out along Rolston Road.
AS PREVIOUSLY reported on Beverley FM, work is due to begin this Monday to improve the congested roundabout on the A164 at Willerby. The £1.9m scheme involves enlarging and installing signals at the existing roundabout along with lane additions and is expected to take 22 weeks to complete. Motorists are being warned to expect delays to their journeys.
