A 34-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court following reports of a robbery at a shop in Molescroft earlier this week. Ryan Masnuik, of Fairview Close, Molescroft, appeared before Hull Magistrates yesterday charged with robbery and was released on conditional bail and is due to attend Hull Crown Court at a later date. 

It’s reported that a man entered a shop on Woodhall Way around 2.45pm on Wednesday and threatened staff before asking for money from the till, stealing a crate of beer and fleeing. A woman was also arrested at the scene on suspicion of obstructing police and assaulting an emergency service worker. She has been released on bail whilst investigations continue.

EAST RIDING Council is supporting Learning Disability Week which starts on Monday, organised by the charity Mencap with the theme of “myth busting”. The week celebrates the achievements of people with learning disabilities and challenges the misconceptions that often surround them. 

The council’s Worklink programme offers work-based employment support and training for adults with a learning disability. There will be a number of opportunities for people to see the programme in operation and more details are available here

SOME of the country’s top beach volleyball players will be competing in Bridlington as the resort hosts the North England Open. The tournament, which takes place on Bridlington’s south beach over the weekend of 24-25 June, will be hosted by Skyball Beach Volleyball Club and Visit East Yorkshire.
