Rail union RMT has told Beverley FM that it’s called off all industrial action with Hull Trains following the latest proposals made by the company regarding a dispute over pension rights. The union had ordered an overtime and rest-day working ban in addition to strikes on Sundays throughout August. The RMT is fighting to stop the rail operator closing down a well-funded pension scheme. The dispute escalated after talks with ACAS broke down. Hull Trains confirmed to us that they’re now back in negotiations in an effort to agree an acceptable resolution for both parties.

Three sisters have opened independent businesses on Beverley’s Dyer lane. Eve Clark relocated Viviene Rose Wallpaper and Interiors from Hull two years ago, to be followed a year later by her sister Eve with Special Days card and gift shop. And now another year and another sister has arrived in the town. Lucy Clark has moved from radio presenter to canine accessory entrepreneur with her new shop: Oh My Dog. Lucy told us that opening her own business is a dream come true and it has the seal of approval from her Cocker Spaniel Lily.
