MP GRAHAM STUART has launched a search to find Community Champions across his Beverley and Holderness constituency. Mr Stuart told Beverley FM that he’s always hearing stories about local people doing incredible things for their communities and wants to celebrate their actions.
He said the intention is to turn the spotlight on some of the amazing things happening across Beverley and Holderness and to alert those in need to schemes and charities which may be able to offer support to those in need. The campaign is planned to last two months. He is asking people to nominate their Community Champions and write a brief description of why they deserve recognition.
He commented: “I hope that in highlighting the amazing things people do for others, we will be able to see much more of the unsung community activity that goes on in Beverley and Holderness.” People can nominate their Community Champions at grahamstuart.com/CommunityChampions.
TICKTON PRE-SCHOOL celebrates its 40th anniversary next Saturday and has issued an open invitation to a special event in the Village Hall, from 10am to 12 noon. Committee member Lauren Heath told us: “We would love to see old and new faces alike to celebrate this amazing milestone! It would be amazing to have people who went to the pre-school all those years ago (like I did!), as well as new families who may be looking for a new setting for their children.
