Rugby League: Rovers lose out in France

CATALANS DRAGONS 18-16 HULL KINGSTON ROVERS (Saturday March 10)

Hull Kingston Rovers lost out in a tense encounter in the south of France as they fell to a narrow 18-16 defeat to Catalans Dragons.

It was an evenly contested match throughout with tries from George Lawler and Lewis Tierney cancelling each other out in the first half before wingers Justin Carney and Fouad Yaha traded scores after the break.

It proved to be the boot of Lucas Albert and a penalty count against the Robins which was the difference, the home side’s three penalty goals to two seeing the Dragons get up and running in the Betfred Super League with the slenderest of victories.
