Rugby League: New Hull FC shirt unveiled

Back-to-back Challenge Cup winners Hull FC have unveiled their 2018 home shirt, with a special tribute to the club’s record-breaking Invincibles team of 1978/79! The Black and Whites will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the record-breaking team with their 2018 home shirt designed in tribute to them which will be worn throughout next season.

The jersey is the same design as the one worn 40 years ago, with traditional black and white irregular hoops, by the Hull side who won all 26 of their league games to earn promotion to the First Division under the tutelage of the late Arthur Bunting. That set of results still stands as a record today.

The shirt also includes gold trim and a tribute to the 1978/79 squad included in the design of all replica home shirts.

The shirt was launched at a special anniversary dinner to mark 40 years of the Invincibles, in association with the Hull FC Vice Presidents, and was modelled by stars of that team and alongside members of the current first-team squad, including Fans’ Player of the Year, Albert Kelly.

Next year’s kit includes the traditional white coloured shorts in keeping with those worn in 1978/79, whilst for the first time the club will also have the option of alternative black shorts to use at different times throughout the season.

The shirt design also includes Danny Houghton’s testimonial logo, with a donation from every shirt sold going to the Hull FC stars testimonial fund.

The shirt will go on general sale this Saturday (21st October) from 9am at the club’s retail stores at the KCOM Stadium and Savile Street and online at www.hullfcshop.com

The 2018 home jersey is priced at £49.99 for adults and ladies and £39.99 for kids and if you sign up to a 2018 membership, you can get £5 off the shirt in store and online!
