Blue & Golds take on league leaders
The Blue & Golds will return to action this Saturday taking on the current league leaders Ince Rose Bridge, kicking off at the earlier time of 12.30pm at the Leisure Centre.
Now at the halfway point in the campaign, their Lancashire opponents have been defeated only twice from 11 starts. It would appear that they are favourites for the division 2 title and a swift return to division 1 following last season’s relegation.
Scott Taylor’s Beverley ARLFC team lie in 6th spot with with 5 wins, 5 losses and a draw- a return that Taylor is satisfied with following last season’s promotion. ” We expected a reality check this season but the past month has seen us settle down after a wobbly start and if we keep it going the play-offs are achievable which was our initial target.”
Beverley are looking avenge a 17-4 defeat on a wet afternoon in the corresponding fixture back in March. Billy Riby, Ben Atkin, Bradley Kirkby and Tom Moor are all expected to make their returns after missing the trip to Askam 2 weeks ago. Josh Poskitt will miss out as he begins a 2 game ban.
