Roadworks start on Norwood
The final phase of Beverley Town Centre’s road improvement scheme, costing almost £1 million, is beginning this week. A number of roads and roundabouts have already been resurfaced in the town as part of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council project – and this week work starts on resurfacing a section of parking bays on Norwood.
The parking bays – outside Beverley High School – run from the top of Norwood to the junction with Recreation Park Lane. The work will be carried out on Mondays to Fridays between 9am and 5pm over two weeks, but Norwood will remain open at all times. The work is due to be completed by Friday August 10th and the bays will be in use at weekends.
As part of the road improvement scheme, costing £995,000, resurfacing work has already been completed in Beckside, North Bar Within, Lairgate, Morton Lane, mini roundabouts in New Walkergate and Lord Roberts Road, and also a stretch of the A164 north of Leconfield.
