Pub bans mobiles
A Beverley pub has banned the use of mobile phones and other mobile electronic devices.
The White Horse Inn, in Hengate, known locally as Nellies, dates back to 1666 and was originally a coaching inn. Now, notices have gone up declaring that mobile phones, tablets, laptops are not allowed.
According to the notice: “The ban includes receiving or sending texts, taking or viewing photographs, emailing, using games, apps, Google, Facebook, Messenger etc etc.” Staff say they want Nellies to be a “haven for social conversation.”
