Princess Diana’s brother to speak in Beverley
Best-selling historian Earl Spencer, younger brother of the late Princess Diana, will be the speaker at a Beverley Literature Festival event being held in the Minster next Wednesday (October 11th). He will be discussing his new book, To Catch A King. It describes the young Charles II running for his life, following the disastrous attempt in 1651 to overthrow Cromwell and restore him to the throne. Thousands died as Royalist forces were crushed at the Battle of Worcester. Miraculously, the prince escaped.
The evening starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £7.50, with concessions costing £6.50. For more information visit www.litup.org.uk or call 01482 392699.
