Beverley Cherry Tree Community Association

Beverley Cherry Tree Community Association was established in 1996. It is situated within the Cherry Tree Estate and close to the Swinemoor Estate, and provides services and activities for people in the neighbourhood.

The Trustees are all Beverley residents, and more than half live on the two estates or very nearby. The Association was fortunate in obtaining grant funding from Humberside County Council to purchase the building in Cherry Tree Lane. Very early in its existence, the Centre became the base for a pre-school, “Treetops”, and over the years it has undertaken a great deal of work with children and young people, such as holiday play schemes and a Youth Club.

Other activities have included a Community Health Project, and projects involving the provision of and training with IT equipment. The current activities of the Association are the independent ADVICE SERVICE, “Treetops Play Group”,  and other community based activities at the Centre. These include work with other organisations who rent space from the Association.

The independent advice centre has been an important and successful element of the Cherry Tree Association’s work since the late 1990s, with demand for information and advice coming from all over the East Riding.
