Connor Lynn
Beverley FM Sport Editor
What show do you present and when?
I am the host of the Beverley FM flagship sports show the Three O’clock Kick Off on a Saturday afternoon from 2pm until 6pm. I am also part of the team that creates the Across the Pond show on a Thursday night between 11pm and 3am. It’s a sports show covering all major American sports, both local teams that play those sports and the major US leagues too, with some great music thrown in as well.
What do you love most about being at Beverley FM?
I am super passionate about supporting local sport, and Beverley FM truly is the home of local sport. We have nine hours of coverage per week dedicated to supporting local teams across a diverse range of sports. The team are an incredible group of people who share this vision to promote sport in Beverley and the surrounding area.
If you could travel anywhere you haven’t already been, where would it be?
I’d have to say Denver. As an American sports fanatic, I support the Broncos in the NFL, Nuggets in the NBA, Avalanche in the NHL and Rockies in the MLB, all based out of Denver, Colorado. Heading there over the winter I’d have a chance to see three of those teams play, so that’s a bucket list trip of mine.
Where’s your favourite place in East Yorkshire?
Wherever there is local sports going on!
What’s your favourite comfort food?
It has to be my Mum’s Jambalaya. Although Grandma’s Corned Beef Hash and my Fiancée’s Beef Dripping Roast Potatoes will take the podium places in a tight race.
Who is your Sporting Hero (Sports Team Bonus Round)
It would have to be Steve Prescott MBE. I remember watching Steve play in my first year attending Hull FC games and remember him being incredible on the field, but what is more astounding is the character of the man who raised half a million pounds for charity by completing incredible physical challenges all whilst battling a rare form of Cancer. A hero on and off the field, so much so the Super League Man of Steel award is named after him.
