PR: Teversal vs North Ferriby

North Ferriby FC will have the opportunity to bounce back from Saturday’s FA Vase exit when they make the trip to Teversal on Tuesday. Chris Bolder’s men pushed the much-fancied North Shields all the way and with the scores level after 90 minutes their fate was settled from the penalty spot. Captain Niall Tilsley missed the decisive kick to send North Shields through. When asked about his thoughts and how he plans to pick up his side, Chris Bolder said, “We are disappointed to drop out of the competition. We are proud of the lads and to lose out on penalties is a cruel way to lose any game. We matched them all game and we gave a strong account of ourselves”. Bolder added more, “We have spoken with most of the players today as we cannot dwell on what happened”.

In Teversal, Ferriby will face a side fighting for points after a disappointing start. The Nottinghamshire based side currently sit bottom of the NCEL Division one table and have five points from 19 games. They did not play at the weekend due to this game being rearranged due to the Villagers involvement in the FA Vase. Tevrsal’s sole win this season came when they beat fellow strugglers FC Humber United in an exhilarating 7-4 victory in September. The Villagers were knocked off top spot with Brigg’s victory over Dronfield lifting them above Ferriby with one more game played. Ferriby will have to be wary going into this game as there are no easy games in this division. Cameron Pinnock will be the player that the Villagers will have to keep an eye on. The Teversal man has scored nine goals so far this season.

The Villagers will welcome back Josh Whiteley who missed Saturday’s game as he was cup-tied. Danny Emerton is doubtful after picking up a groin injury against North Shields. Danny East will be a game-day decision. Ben Leyland is still suspended.
