Pr: North Ferriby vs Worsbrough Bridge

North Ferriby will look to continue their unbeaten run to the start of the season when they entertain Worsborough Bridge Athletic at the Dransfield Stadium on Saturday with a 3 p.m. kick-off. Ferriby are the only team yet to lose a game in the division after a 2-1 win at Dronfield on Tuesday night with goals from Harvey Carew and Niall Tilsley.

This will be another tough test for the Villagers but a side who sit fourth in the Northern Counties East League table just a point off top spot. They also boast the best defence in the table having leaked just seven goals, only two at home, and having scored 23.

They picked up the win at Dronfield on Tuesday night at a tough place to go but manager Chris Bolder’s side showed real character especially having gone a goal down inside the first four minutes. Once again there was over 20 chances created by the Villagers but they could only find the net twice but two vital strikes to enable them to gain the victory.

Worsborough are a side who can score goals especially on home soil but they have been less successful in front of goal away from home. They will need to be at their best if they want to pierce a tough and uncompromising home defence looking for its eleventh game without defeat.

Ferriby will be without the injured Iwan Heeley whilst Josh Dennett will also be missing after picking up an injury in Saturday’s 2-0 over Parkgate. On the plus side there will be some experience added with Joel Shortland and Danny Buttle coming back into the squad for yet another tough game.
