Pr: North Ferriby vs Parkgate

North Ferriby return to league action on Saturday when they entertain Parkgate at the Dransfield Stadium with a 3 p.m. kick-off. The Villagers will want to continue with the only unbeaten run in the league but like all teams, the Rotherham based side will be no pushover.

Assistant Manager Paul Robson knows how good an unbeaten run is and how it helps the side when he said: “We are the only unbeaten team in the league and it certainly goes a long way to building confidence and we are a confident side at the moment.

“We want to keep this run going as long as we can and as a team, this is helped by a great discipline we have in the squad. First and foremost you need a good defence in this league but not just the players at the back it comes from when we are not in possession.

“It has been good to be able to get some good training sessions in as we have been playing Tuesdays for a while and we have been working on a lot of things to help us improve even more. In Parkgate, we come up against a side who have had a decent start to the season and who are used to playing on a nice pitch when they are at home so it should be a great game.”

New signing from Scunthorpe United Academy Oliver Kemp comes into the squad ahead of the game with Eddie Rogerson also back in the squad after a back injury. Danny Buttle is missing due to work commitments with Iwan Heeley sidelined with an Achilles injury.

There are doubts over Joel Shortland with a thigh strain with Danny East having a late test on a rib injury with Joe McFadyen also doubtful. Ferriby will still be fielding a strong side as they look to keep pace with the leading pack as they currently sit in sixth place with Parkgate down in 12th
