PR: North Ferriby vs Nostell MW

North Ferriby FC welcome Nostell Miners Welfare to the Dransfield Stadium on Saturday hoping to consolidate top spot and their unbeaten league start.

It has been a busy seven days for the Villagers with a penalty defeat to North Shields coupled with a league win at Teversal in midweek. When asked about how this will impact on squad selection, Chris Bolder said, “It plays a part in our selection on Saturday. We’re fortunate as some of those who missed the game on Tuesday will return on Saturday. We were also able to give players a rest during the game on Tuesday such as Louis Kirk and Niall Tilsley. We have great competition for places and we’ve seen that this week”.

Nostell made a flying start to the season but have tailed off a little as of late. Nostell currently sit in 8th position and come into the game off the back of a 3-1 home defeat against Selby. Anees Younis is the clubs top scorer this season and alongside fellow attackers, Nathan Perks and Danny Edwards will require the Villagers backline to be at their best.

The win at Teversal returned the Villagers to the top of the table after slipping to 2nd after Brigg took advantage of the Villagers FA Vase appearance. Bolder’s men sit three points clear of the Lincolnshire side and five points clear of Hallam. All three sides have played 18 games.

The Villagers will still be without Ben Leyland who will serve his last game of his suspension. Liam Nelthorpe and Jackson Jowett will be out with injuries.
