PR: North Ferriby vs Hallam

The season may have only just gone past the quarter mark but Saturday’s game against Hallam could prove to be season-defining for North Ferriby FC. The Villagers go into the game in fourth place whereas their visitors sit at the top of the table. The Sheffield based club have not lost in their last twelve league games. They boast an impressive +48 goal difference and come into the game off the back of an 8-1 thrashing of Selby at Sandygate last weekend.

The Villagers didn’t play at the weekend so come in fresh. In order to keep the players match ready Chris Bolder’s side played the Hull City academy in a friendly on Tuesday losing 3-2. The game allowed Bolder to give players valuable minutes as well as further integrate new attacking duo Josh Whiteley and Jackson Jowett.

Chris Bolder is all too aware of the magnitude of this game. When asked what his thoughts are he said, “It will obviously be a really tough game against a very in form side who are free-scoring. They have some really experienced players and three players that occupy the top goalscorer charts so will be a real attacking threat. We have a strong defensive record so we will have to be at our best to try and keep them at bay. We have had a good unbeaten start to the league campaign and we will look to build on our principles against Hallam on Saturday and impose our style of play on them. We have great options in the squad and lots of competition for places which is a really good headache for Paul and myself. We will try and pick a team that we feel will give us the best chance of getting the three points and continue this fine form in the league”.

The Villagers have played Hallam twice since their formation back in 2019. In fact, the club’s first competitive game came against Hallam. The two sides sharing the spoils with a 1-1 draw. In fact, the two clubs also played out a 1-1 draw In March 2021, not long before the COVID-19 pandemic halting proceedings.

It is sure to be a tense game with a good crowd expected down at the Dransfield.
