PR: North Ferriby vs Clipstone

North Ferriby FC return to league action this weekend to face Clipstone after their NCEL league cup game against Maltby Main during the week. It was to be the end of the road for Chris Bolder’s men in the cup as they were defeated 4-2 on penalties by their NCEL Premier Division host. It is the NCEL Premier Division that the Villagers want to reach and find themselves top of the NCEL Division one table. They reached the summit after a 3-0 victory at Armthorpe at the weekend. When asked about what it means to see his side top of the table Bolder said, “We know what our objectives this season, but it is important that we focus on ourselves and if we do that then the result will be there for us”.

Clipstone come into the game in 16th position and off the back of a 3-2 defeat at home to Selby last weekend. The ‘Cobras’ have made an indifferent start to their campaign and haven’t been able to go on a run of positive results. When asked what he expects from Clipstone, Bolder said, “We don’t know too much about them but if we look at their league position, we understand that we can’t take anyone lightly in this league. If we aren’t at 100% then they will make it difficult for us”.

The Villagers rang the changes for Tuesday’s game to keep key players fit and give all players a go and a chance to impress.  The Villagers will be without Danny East for Saturday’s game and there will be no Josh Whiteley or Oliver Kemp. There is a doubt over Liam Nelthorpe. Bolder is hopeful both Niall Tilsley and Matty Plummer will be good to go.
