PR: Hull City vs Luton Town

A member of Hull City OSC has once again kindly provided a preview to the Hull City game this evening. This week’s reporter is Lee Dolman.

Head to Head
Our first contest was in 1949 and we have met 43 times. Luton have won 19 times, City 16 with 8 draws. We have lost the last 3 matches, including last season’s 1v3 home defeat against a very impressive Luton side.

Friday night’s match
After an exciting start to the season, with The Tigers topping the table, injuries and poor defending have contributed to four successive defeats. Hull City crashing down to 20th place, albeit in a typically close Championship table.

Luton meanwhile are unbeaten in 6 and have won their last two away games. We welcome back Reece Burke to Hull.

We hope that the international break has afforded Hull City time to regroup, rehabilitate injured players, rest tired legs and work on defending as a group. Shota should now know his best XI and we hope that the new players have had a chance to bed in and understand what the manager wants.

According to one source, Luton’s squad valuation is £25M whereas Hull City’s is £49M.

If Oscar can resume his scoring spree then that figure will rise significantly. He has been a revelation this season and his goals have come through his own desire and tenacity. At one point he was scoring a goal every 62 minutes. In the last two games though he hasn’t had a shot on target.

We might finally get to see the highly-rated Sinik on the left wing.

Prediction
My starting lineup would be; Baxter; C. Christie, McLoughlin, Greaves (C), Fleming (if fit); Sinik, Pelkas, Tufan, Seri, Slater; Oscar.
4-4-1-1
(Yes I have left out the club captain)

I am hoping that our midfield pairing of Tufan and Seri can spark again and control the midfield. Tighten up the defence with 4 at the back.

Hull City 2v1 Luton Town

Finally….
We wish our new charismatic owner Acun Ilicali a full and speedy recovery from his car crash and injured arm. I’m sure a win v Luton will help.

True to his word, he has booked a 5* hotel in Turkey for hundreds of lucky Hull City fans to enjoy a once in lifetime experience.
