PR: Hall Road vs Hallam FC

Hall Road Rangers begin 2022 with a big test as they welcome Hallam FC to Haworth Park on Monday. After their 1-2 away win at North Ferriby FC last Tuesday, Rangers come into this game full of confidence and with a great amount of momentum behind them. However, they’ll face a very tough challenge against the current league leaders. The Countrymen moved to the top of the table after picking up a 3-2 win against Brigg Town in their last game.

Craig Denton’s side have only lost three of their opening 23 league games. Hallam have also picked up 17 wins and three draws. Hallam are the top scorers in NCEL Division One as they’ve scored 87 goals. Iren Wilson is the Countrymen’s top scorer with 20 league goals to his name. Liam Royles, Chris Wood and Brandon Bradbury also provide attacking threats within the Hallam squad. Royles has 17 goals in all competitions, Wood has a tally of 14 goals and Bradbury has 11 league goals respectively.

The previous league meeting between the sides took place in August. Hallam won 7-0 on the night with all seven goals coming in the second half. Hall Road joint manager Leon Sewell would like to see more spectators come to Haworth Park and support his side.

“It’d be nice to see a good turnout at Haworth Park on Monday when we welcome Hallam FC. Our quest is to keep the points in Hull and make sure we rectify the mistakes we made when Hallam strolled to a 7-0 victory earlier on in the season at their place.

We actually held our own and, for the first 45 minutes, I thought we moved the ball well. However, we didn’t capitalise on the chances we created” Sewell said.
