PR: Hall Road Rangers vs Parkgate

There’s been plenty of positive momentum for Hall Road Rangers in recent weeks and they’ll be hoping to keep this going on Saturday when they welcome Parkgate FC to Haworth Park.

Due to this recent upturn in form, Rangers have started looking further up the NCEL Division One table as they try and make up important ground on the sides above them.

Parkgate are in 9th place in the league table and have a total of 30 points from 18 games. In which, The Steelmen have won nine, drawn three and lost six.

Andy Dawson’s side have the joint 5th best away record in the league having picked up 16 points on the road. They’ve won five of their nine away games, drawn one and lost three.

The Steelmen have a relatively good attacking record as they’ve scored 35 goals so far this season. Sam Ackroyd is Parkgate’s top scorer with ten goals in all competitions. Parkgate possess other goal threats in Fred Tracey, Brandon Bagley, Haydn Ward and Will Wraith. Tracey has six league goals, Bagley has five goals to his name whilst Ward and Wraith both have four goals in all competitions.

On the other hand, the Steelmen possess the joint 8th best defence as they’ve conceded 31 goals. They’ve also recorded four clean sheets.

Rangers joint boss Leon Sewell knows this’ll be a different sort of challenge for his side.

“It’ll be a different game from the one last week at Swallownest.

The lads were in training on Wednesday night and we’ll be ready to welcome Parkgate to Haworth Park on Saturday” he said.
