PR: Glasshoughton Welfare vs North Ferriby

The Villagers make the trip across the M62 on Saturday to face Glasshoughton Welfare in search of extending their impressive seven leagues in a row. The Villagers face a tough task as Glasshoughton come into the game fresh off a 4-2 victory over promotion hopefuls Selby Town on Tuesday night. This victory made it three league wins on the bounce for the West Yorkshire outfit. The Villagers come into the game off the back of an emphatic 6-1 win over Worsbrough Bridge last weekend. It was a rampant first-half performance which saw the Villagers go into the interval 5-0 up. Speaking about this result last week and what it means for Saturday’s fixture Bolder stated, “I was pleased with the way we took control of the ball and how we were patient and the ways in which we created chances”. Bolder also praised his sides play in front of goal by calling them “clinical”.

This weekend gives the Villagers an opportunity to go one point behind leaders Brigg Town who don’t have a game. Second place Hallam can go top if they win but if Ferriby match their result they would still only be one point behind. Chris Bolder assessed the situation by saying “That we always have our eye on the league table but it is important that we just focus on us and what we are doing”.

When asked what he expects from this weekend’s game Bolder stated, “From what we’ve seen from Glasshoughton they pose a threat and are coming into the game off the back of a big result against Selby”.

In terms of who the Villagers will have available on Saturday, they will welcome back captain Niall Tilsley who missed last Saturday’s win against Worsbrough. The Villagers will be without both Joel Shortland and Harvey Carew.
