PR: Dronfield vs Hall Road Rangers

Hall Road Rangers joint-manager Leon Sewell has spoken of the respect he has for Dronfield Town ahead of his side’s trip to the H. E. Barnes Stadium on Saturday.

“Dronfield is another tough place for us to go. It’s a nice little club and I’ve got a lot of time and respect for Dronfield. I’ve known their manager Chris Millington for many years.

We’ll be going there with pretty much a full-strength team. Come three o’clock, myself, Ricco, Burkey and Matt’ll be chomping at the bit to make sure the players are ready to rock and roll” he said.

Rangers could potentially move up to 12th place in the league table if they pick up a third successive win and both Ollerton Town and Glasshoughton Welfare lose against Rainworth Miners Welfare and Rossington Main respectively.

Meanwhile, Dronfield are in 15th place and nine points adrift of Hall Road. Chris Millington’s side have picked up 17 points from 19 games having won five, drawn two and lost 12.

They come into this game on the back of two successive defeats against Rossington Main and Brigg Town. Before these defeats, they were unbeaten in five league games which included four successive victories against Teversal FC, Nostell Miners Welfare, Shirebrook Town and Rainworth Miners Welfare.

They’ve won three of their nine home games so far this season and lost the other six.

Sam Bebbington and Callum Mawbey provide the main goal threats within Dronfield’s squad as they’ve produced 13 goals between them. Bebbington has seven goals in all competitions whilst Mawbey has a tally of six goals to his name. Dronfield have scored a total of 21 goals so far this season.

Dronfield possess one of the leakiest defences in the league having conceded 47 goals.
