PR: Armthorpe Welfare vs Hall Road

Hall Road Rangers are on their travels on Wednesday night as they head to Armthorpe Welfare. After their home defeat against Nostell Miners Welfare on Saturday, Rangers will look to get back on track and pick up some big points which could move them up into 8th place in the NCEL Division One table.

Sitting a couple of places below Hall Road in the league table, Armthorpe come into this game on the back of a 4-1 defeat at Harrogate Railway Athletic in their last league game. However, Wellie have won their last two home games against Teversal FC and Retford FC respectively.

Both sides have inconsistent form of late. This is emphasised through the fact that Rangers and Armthorpe have won three and lost three of their last six league games. Adam Baskerville is Armthorpe’s main goalscoring threat. Baskerville has 19 goals to his name in all competitions which includes seven goals in the last seven games.

Hall Road joint boss Leon Sewell wants a positive response from his side after the home defeat against Nostell Miners Welfare on Saturday.

“We had a frustrating afternoon against Nostell. As the saying goes, we’ve got to dust ourselves down and go again.

We’ve got another tough game on Wednesday night away at Armthorpe. We’ll have to contend with getting across town and getting through to Doncaster.

We’ve had Armthorpe watched so we’ll see what they have to offer. We’ll be looking to put the wrongs of the Nostell game right and get another three points on the board.

A big reaction is needed on Wednesday.

Even more so given that we’ve won our last six games away from home and it’s something that we’ll be looking to make sure stays in tact and keep that away record going” he said.
