Police announce knife amnesty

Humberside Police this week launched Operation Sceptre as part of a national knife amnesty. From now until Sunday, sealed knife bins will be located at police stations throughout the Force’s area, including at Beverley Police Station. Chief Inspector Paul Butler, overseeing the knife amnesty for Humberside Police, told Beverley FM: “This campaign is about getting as many knives off our streets as possible. Every knife handed in is one less that can be used to harm or threaten our communities.”

Hew continued: “This amnesty is an opportunity for people to hand in knives and blades.  We will dispose of them in a safe and secure manner. No questions will be asked, even if the knife is banned.”
