Phone mast proposal rejected
Plans for a 20-metre mobile phone mast to be sited permanently in the car park of the Beverley Arms Hotel have been rejected by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The mast has been located at the site since telecoms equipment previously sited on the hotel roof had to be moved during the current renovation works.
Residents objecting to the plans had thought the siting of the mast near to their homes was just a temporary measure and were shocked when mobile phone companies EE Limited and Hutchinson 3G UK applied to make it permanent.
