North Ferriby vs Bottesford

North Ferriby welcome Bottesford Town to the Dransfield Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Villagers ended a long absence with a return to action at Goole on Tuesday. Chris Bolder’s side came out 2-0 winners. Two first-half goals by Amir Berchil and Danny Earl proved to be the difference between the two sides. The Villagers signed experienced midfielder Tom Claisse before the Goole fixture, the former Tadcaster and Wakefield midfielder made his debut from the bench. When asked after the game his thoughts on how his team performed, Bolder said, “the conditions didn’t favour us, we managed the game exceptionally well, without being our usual slick passing selves. We were disciplined and had a great shape about us”.

The win at Goole made it seven league wins In a row for the Villagers. Bolder’s side currently have an eleven-point lead over second-place Winterton.

Bottesford come into the game just outside the relegation zone. Jimmy McNeil’s side are one point better off than Goole. Bottesford saw defeat in their last game, losing 2-1 at Winterton, only succumbing to a winner in the last ten minutes. Bottesford have found more success on the road this season. Ten of their sixteen points have been picked up on the road. Their top goal scorer is Declan Bacon, Bacon has experience playing at a higher level with stints at Alfreton, Gainsborough and Liversedge.

An appearance for Louis Kirk on Monday will be his 100th for the club. Danny Earl was booked at Goole meaning he now had five yellow cards. He will however be available for Monday’s fixture.
